Firmware:: Archos 5: "bad update (code 207)" error What now?
I have the "bad update (code 207)" error when trying the update the firmware.

How do I delete whatever was downloaded and provoke this error?

My archos device does not show the features menu, and is not recognised by my pc. Anyone know how to solve this one...

No no problems as of such but the downgraded firmware was easier for a lot of people to hack and run added programs (mainly game roms). So for those interested in modding or getting a little more from the device would have to downgrade as the newer firmware doesn't allow hacks and cracks.

Firmware:: what we want in firmware
There are many different things that i have thought about in terms of the next piece of firmware for gmini 402 cam and i have deccided to attempt to get my ideas through to archos. But before i do is there anyone who has any more ideas towards the new firmware? heres what i have so far...

1.I have already stated this before that there should be a title editor. I believe it is possible as you are able to re-name the videos once shot.

2.Mp3 mixing. Something that allows you to shoot a film and afterwards mix in an mp3 or a latter recorded sound. I.e. narration.

3.To put still images in with the movie so that you could take a photo using the cam and put it in the film. (good if you have a production logo)

4.A simple text memo and reminder in the player so that you can keep important numbers and little notes.

5.A calender. You already have the clock so i shouldnt think it impossible to put the date in and the months ahead.

If there is any more that you can think of please tell me or what you think of my ideas. cheers kasper

Yep..

Rockbox.org comes almost everytime when you google for Archos.

Lot of firmware in there, and many open source.

Im afraid its all just a dream as of yet tho guys, though i wonder if it is actually possible for me to put foward the idea to archos? ill give it a go and see what reaction i get... and ofcourse i will keep you guys updated!
